WeMAR is the political voice for REALTORS® in the West Maricopa Region, protecting and promoting WeMAR REALTOR® member interests in the various cities, towns and communities in West Maricopa County.

The Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee works to influence policy in order to protect and promote private property rights and REALTOR® rights in the West Valley.  Committee goals this year include becoming an active user of NAR’s REALTOR® Party Initiatives and building stronger relationships with elected leadership and city staff in West Valley communities.

A number of committee workgroups have been created, taking on such varied tasks as seeking out REALTOR® Champions, designing a candidate endorsement process, organizing meet-and-greets with political officials, and being proactively involved in county and city elections in the West Valley. The work of the committee and its workgroups ensures that members and the public have a clear understanding that WeMAR is passionate about the protection of private property rights.

The Government Affairs & Public Policy Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing government affairs policy
  • Creating and maintaining a sustained grassroots movement among REALTORS®
  • Work with association leadership for political fundraising (RAPAC)
  • Be the leading advocate for Private Property Rights
  • Inform and communicate to our members changes in public policy that affect their business
  • Support the REALTORS® of Arizona Political Action Committee and the Arizona REALTOR® Party
Government Affairs & Public Policy Committee meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month from 3:30-5:00 PM at WeMAR.
