donate to AZHF to help bring the homeless home

Be the Key to a Place Called Home.

Arizona faces the 3rd most acute shortage of affordable housing in the nation. Resolving this issue requires a collaborative effort from Arizona's public, private, and philanthropic sectors to secure the necessary funds for expanding the housing options our communities require.

As of 2023, an estimated 13,500 individuals in Arizona find themselves without stable housing, ranking the state 8th in the nation according to the most recent data from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Arizona's homeless population accounts for more than 2% of the national total. Homelessness has reached an unprecedented peak, driven by the impact of COVID-19, escalating housing expenses, and the severe scarcity of affordable and accessible homes.

We’re supporting the Arizona REALTORS’® initiative to offer you and every homebuyer and seller the chance to contribute to the fight against homelessness. It's a simple process: you and your clients can voluntarily donate $25 or more to the Arizona Housing Fund (AZHF) at the close of escrow. Each contributor will fill out a one-page Escrow Donation Form and submit it to the escrow company, which will disburse the donation to AZHF at the close of escrow. Anyone can make a direct donation to AZHF through the Arizona Community Foundation.

AZHF is the state's solution for raising and allocating funds to Arizona nonprofits that construct affordable, supportive, and low-income housing. Donations to AZHF will be directed towards established and successful Arizona nonprofits, enabling them to build additional housing units and provide on-site support services for their residents.

Be the Key to a Place Called Home. Together, we can address the pressing need for affordable housing in our communities and make significant strides in reducing homelessness.

The Arizona Housing Fund is a component fund of the Arizona Community Foundation. All donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of your donation will go toward building affordable housing
