The Code of Ethics

The National Association of REALTORS® says you must TAKE IT! Code of Ethics is not just a required course for NAR membership; it sets REALTORS® above the standard.

  • Heightens member awareness of the key tenets of the Code of Ethics
  • Creates an awareness of and appreciation for the role the Code can and should play in their professional lives
  • Enhance professionalism and competency
  • Encourages REALTORS® to view their Code of Ethics as a living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients, customers and the public
As of January 1, 2001, the National Association of REALTORS® requires all REALTORS® to complete a 2 1/2 hour course on ethics based on their cycle schedule. Tuesday, December 31, 2020 brings the end of this two-year cycle.

New Members

All new WeMAR members are asked to complete Code of Ethics within their first 90-days of membership. Attend the New Member Orientation & NAR Code of Ethics course at WeMAR FREE of charge. You'll also earn 3 hours Commissioner's Standards continuing education credit for your ADRE license renewal.

Are you transferring from another association and have completed Code of Ethics after January 1, 2019? Please submit a copy of your certificate when you join WeMAR.

Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in termination of membership until the class is taken and reported to WeMAR. Access to MLS, zipForm®, LockBox Key, eSign, DocuSign, and other association benefits will also be inactivated. There will be a $50 reinstatement fee if terminated. We strongly encourage you to take a NAR approved Code of Ethics class and submit it to WeMAR prior to the due date.

Fax your Code of Ethics certificate to 623.931.1008 or email to membership. Please include your MLS ID and your NRDS ID number on the certificate.

NAR offers free ethics classes online at REALTOR.org. Please note: NAR Code of Ethics classes are not accredited with continuing education for your Arizona license renewal.
